Item Description

For sale by the New Kensington Fire Department is a 1980 American LaFrance Century fire engine.  This engine was originally ordered and delivered to the Fire Department of the City of New York in 1980.  Its serial # is CE-7106.  It carried F.D.N.Y. shop # 8002.  It was the second pumper delivered in 1980 and served Engine Co. 61 in the Bronx.  In entered service on January 14, 1981.  It served at Engine 61 until May 8, 1989.  it was purchased by PA Fire Apparatus and received a total refurbishment in 1992 and sold to the Biglerville Truck & Hose Co. No. 6 of Adams County, PA.  The refurbishment included the following:

A rebulit American LaFrance 1,250 GPM twinflow pump with a Ross Relief Valve

1,000 gallon poly tank

Frame was stretched and an extended front bumper was added with a 1.5" trashline added.

Cab interior is padded leather.

Rebuilt 671 Detroit Diesel engine & a rebuilt Allison 740 automatic transmission.

(2) 2.5" discharges on each side of the pump.

(2) 6" intakes. One on each side of the pump

(2) 3" rear discharges

(1) 2.5" Rear valved dryfill

(1) 4" officer side discharge

(3) 1.75" crosslays over the pump

(1) 2.5" crosslay over the pump

All crosslays are capable of carrying 200' each.

Prepiped deck gun in the dunnage area above the pump.

Rear hose bed capable of holding:  1,200' of 5" supply line, 400' of 1.75" line, 200' of 2.5" line, 500' of 3" line.

Cab seats 6 firefighters, with 3 S.C.B.A seats with 2 additional S.C.B.A holders.

has a 24" Duo Safety extension ladder and a 14' Alco-Lite roof ladder.

Engine comes with 1,000' of 5" supply line and (2) 10" lite-weight suction tubes.

This engine was purchased by the City of New Kensington in January 2012 and served in frontline service, reserve status and currently is a spare.  Has been a spare since 2014.

"I'm sorry to be so specific but is there a stamped VIN number that matches the Title as my State requires the VIN on the truck to match that of the Title. My understanding is that VINs were only stamped on the chassis or cab beginning in 1981. Just trying to determine if it will require going to a Judge to have the Title approved."
