Payment Details

Before the vehicle can be picked up, please mail or bring a certified or cashier's check to the Kemah Fire Department between the weekday hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Before releasing the vehicle to the buyer, payment must be verified and deposited at the local bank of the Department.

Item Description

Kemah Fire Department, as seller, disclaims any warranty, guarantee or representation of any kind, expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for any purpose of the property offered for sale.  The vehicle is being sold on an "As is, where is" basis. Decals of the department's patch and any "Kemah Fire" lettering will be removed before the vehicle's final sale; all other stripings will be left in place.

The department has furnished photographs of the truck's exterior, interior, and undercarriage. Moreover, a video has been created to demonstrate the truck's functionality and provide a detailed description for those interested. The truck has recently cleared its inspection and will have a current tag at the time of pick-up. The Carfax report has been provided and attached as a PDF document.

 

2003 Ford F-350 4WD has 91,834 miles and has the following modification upgrades, which include but are not limited to: 

  • Four (4) Inch Lift
  • Programmer (original hardware, manual, and programmer will be provided with the truck)
  • Exhaust Delete
  • XRC Winch (15,500 lb 1st layer load capacity) - functioning and with controller

 

Vehicle service and use history: This unit was purchased in 2003 and assigned to Command Staff for approximately eight (8) years, then was repurposed as a general response (squad) unit for four (4) years. In 2015 the unit was given a complete overhaul and repurposed as a special response vehicle - the modifications and upgrades listed above were put into place at that time. 

The vehicle's condition of the vehicle includes but is not limited to:

  • Dents and some small holes from removed emergency lights 
  • NO emergency equipment remains on this unit, stripped before the auction by an Emergency Vehicle Technician
  • Holes in the roof – see included pictures – from where the light bar was installed
  • The air conditioning system is operational, but the vehicle might need a refill of refrigerant.
  • the interior is in good condition
  • Engine Hours are NOT available
  • One (1) minor accident was known where the unit was rear-ended during afternoon traffic. No known significant accidents for the unit's life - CARFACTS REPORT INCLUDED IN THE DOCUMENTS
  • Check engine light on 
  • Side step bar rusted 
  • Surface rust on the undercarriage

Payment: Before the vehicle can be picked up, you must bring or mail a certified check, cashier's check, or cash to the Kemah Fire Station #1 between 08:30 AM to 04:00 PM. Buyers purchasing the vehicle may only take possession once the department's bank has verified payment.

When you place a bid on an item, it forms a legally binding contract between you (the Buyer) and the seller. You must pay the full amount at the time of pickup, which should be done no later than 14 calendar days after the Notice of award is issued. Failure to make payment within this time frame gives the Kemah Fire Department the right to either relist the item or award it to the second-highest bidder. If you are a successful bidder, you must make payment in cash or with a certified check made payable to the Kemah Fire Department. You must collect the item within 14 days of receiving the Notice of award. Please note that you will not be entitled to a refund if you do not collect the item within this time frame. Please be aware that the Kemah Fire Department reserves the right to accept or reject any bids received. Also, please note that you are responsible for collecting the item in person - delivery is unavailable. Finally, once the item has left the Department property, the Kemah Fire Department will not be held responsible for any issues that may arise.

I contacted the Fleet Mechanic to verify the engine code issue who believes the code is for the PCM module. He will verify if there are any additional codes on Thursday and we'll update you. UPDATE AS OF 01/12/2024 at 5:14 PM - our fleet mechanic ran a check-engine report and found the following: x1 Fuel Pressure Regulator x1 Replace Injection Control Pressure (ICP) Sensor (edited on 01/12/2024 07:14 PM)

-Check engine light not fixed. -please refer to above Q/A regarding the check engine light description -truck does not burn oil -YES. Have been advised the truck is “studded”
