Payment Details
It is the responsibility of all bidders to read and understand the following provisions of sale and bid procedure. Failure to comply with all provisions may result in bid rejection. The successful bidder shall make payment in full within ten (10) working days following the meeting on February 2, 2026. Results of the auction will be voted on by members of the fire company at the February 2, 2026 meeting. We will accept a certified check, cashier's check, cash or money order made payable to Hilltown Township Volunteer Fire Company. Equipment and lettering will be removed from truck after payment is received. Truck will be available for pick up after March 1, 2026.
Item Description
The Hilltown Township Volunteer Fire Company is excepting bids for the sale of their 1989 Mack R688FCS 3000 gallon tanker. This vehicle was purchased by the Fire Company in 1989 and has served as their tanker vehicle. Vehicle is in great condition.

3,000 gallon stainless steel tank fabricated by 4 Guys Stainless Steel Fabricators.
Custom built dump chutes with extensions are located on left, rear and right side.
Dump valves and air operated vent on top of tank are controlled from cab.
3,000 gallon portable pond is in good condition with no holes. Frame has rust in some locations.
Small dent is located on passenger side door below the mirror bracket. Door and window operate with no issues.
Frame is in great condition with some rust on frame rails, transmission and engine pans, tank supports at rear of truck

SALES TRANSACTION Results of auction will be voted upon by members of the Hilltown Township Volunteer Fire Company at their monthly meeting on February 2, 2026. Members will vote to accept the winning bid or reject all bids. If the winning bid is accepted, the successful bidder shall make payment in full within ten (10) working days following the meeting on February 2, 2026. We will accept a certified check, cashier's check, cash or money order made payable to Hilltown Township Volunteer Fire Company. Equipment and lettering on truck will be removed after payment is received. Truck will be ready for pick up after March 1st, 2026. PRE-BID INSPECTION The vehicle offered for sale may be inspected by appointment only. To make an appointment, contact Jim Foote via email jimf@hilltownfirerescue.org. Vehicle is offered for sale "AS IS WITH NO WARRANTIES OR GUARANTEES" The successful bidder, upon making final payment and taking ownership, shall be responsible for removal and all cost incurred for removal of said vehicle. In the event the successful bidder is unable to schedule removal of vehicle at the time of purchase, special exceptions shall be agreed upon. HOLD HARMLESS The successful bidder, upon taking ownership of vehicle purchased within this contract, shall properly safeguard against any and all injury or damage to the public, to the public and private property, materials and things, and as such, the successful bidder alone shall be responsible for any and all damage, loss, or injury to persons or property that may arise, or be incurred in or during the removal, future use, and disposition of said equipment. In all cases, the successful bidder shall keep the Hilltown Township Volunteer Fire Company and it's members free and discharge of and from any and all responsibility thereof of any sort or kind. The successful bidder shall assume all responsibility for risk or casualties of every description, for any or all damages, loss, or injury to person or property arising out of any future use, ownership, and or disposition of said vehicle. The successful bidder upon taking ownership, shall assume and be liable for all blame and loss of whatsoever nature by reason of neglect or violation of any Federal, State, or Local laws, regulations, or ordinances. The successful bidder, upon taking ownership, shall indemnify and save harmless Hilltown Township Volunteer Fire Company and it's members from all suits or actions of law of any kind whatsoever in connection with any future use, ownership, or disposition of any kind of said vehicle.

What if the selling agency rejects my bid?
If the government agency rejects your bid (they reserve the right to do so) your buyer's fee will be returned, in full, to you within 5 days of notification to Municibid of the rejected bid by the governing body.

If your credit card is declined for insufficient funds, you will be charged a $50 fee.
