This Toro Groundsmaster 4000 was originally purchased used in 2015 and has only a few hundred hours of operation, having served primarily as a demo mower for the dealership. It starts reliably and was actively used during the 2025 summer season, demonstrating consistent performance.

Mechanically, the mower is in good condition with all functions operating as designed. There is, however, an occasional electrical issue that can cause the engine to de-power. According to the Toro dealership, this is likely due to the need to replace the central wiring harness and an atmospheric sensor.

A:

Yes the mower is 4 wheel drive - hydraulic hydrostatic transmission . To be honest it is hard to explain the depowering. It will run for days with no problems and then all of the sudden it will throttle down and limit the engine RPMs. We had it at the dealership in Greensburgh (EH. Griffith) and they feel it is a bad wiring harness based on the diagnostics. You are welcome to come take it for a test drive if you would like. You can also give me a call to discuss in detail.
