SUN Area Technical Institute is offering a Powis Fastback 20 thermal binding machine.

This thermal binding machine was removed from the Advertising Art and Design program in December 2025 due to no longer having the need for the machine within the curriculum needs, and the need for additional storage within the CTE program for materials and supplies. This item was originally acquired in 2014 with grant funds. SUN Tech will gather as many parts to the machine as possible, however there is always the assumed risk of missing pieces.

The Powis Fastback 20 (FB20) is a fast, user-friendly thermal tape binding machine for creating professional books and documents, binding up to 350 sheets (1.5 inches thick) in 12-20 seconds using one-touch operation, and supporting standard tape, hardcover, and customizable image strips for branding, making it ideal for corporate, educational, and print shop environments needing quick, strong, lay-flat binding.

How it Works

1. Load your pages and select the appropriate Powis binding strip (Super Strip, Image Strip, etc.).
2. Insert the pages into the machine.
3. Press the single bind button.
4. The machine uses two heaters to activate the thermal adhesive in the strip, binding the pages securely in seconds.
