The City of Carterville will accept payment by cashier’s check, money order, or other certified funds made payable to the City of Carterville. Personal checks will not be accepted unless specifically approved by the City, and no item will be released until payment has fully cleared.

Item Description

Selling a 2004 Ford F-150 service truck with 231,729 miles. Truck is equipped with a 4.6L 2-valve V8 engine and a composite service bed. This vehicle was previously used as a municipal/public works service truck.

The truck is not currently running. It will crank over and try to start, but it will not run. The cause has not been fully diagnosed. It was a great work truck but would not start one day when employees came out to use the truck at the beginning of the day. Because it does not currently run, buyers should assume the vehicle will need to be towed or hauled from the pickup location.

The truck shows normal wear for its age, mileage, and work use. Interior has visible wear, including torn seats, dirt, and general work-truck condition. Exterior has paint wear, scratches, fading, and other signs of use. Service bed condition should be inspected by bidders.

The City makes no warranties or guarantees regarding mechanical condition, drivability, service bed condition, or overall operation. Buyer is responsible for pickup, loading, towing, hauling, and all transportation costs. Vehicle is being sold as-is, where-is.

Seller's Terms & Conditions

All items are sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with no warranties, guarantees, or representations, either expressed or implied, as to condition, fitness for use, mileage, mechanical condition, or operability. The City of Carterville strongly encourages bidders to inspect the item before bidding. Any description provided is based on the City’s best available knowledge, but bidders are responsible for verifying condition prior to placing a bid. This vehicle is not currently running and may require towing or hauling from the pickup location. The City believes the vehicle may have a bad fuel pump; however, no diagnosis is guaranteed. The dump bed operation is unknown, as the truck must be running in order to test the bed. Winning bidder must make payment in full according to Municibid requirements before the item will be released. Buyer must provide proof of payment and valid identification at the time of pickup. Buyer is responsible for all loading, towing, hauling, transportation, permits, insurance, and any costs associated with removing the item. Pickup shall be by appointment only during normal City business hours unless otherwise approved by the City. The item must be removed within 7 days after payment is completed. Failure to pick up the item within the required timeframe may result in forfeiture of the item and/or payment, unless prior arrangements have been approved by the City. The City of Carterville reserves the right to reject any bid, cancel the sale, or withdraw the item from auction if necessary. The item will not be released until all required payment and documentation has been completed.
