Payment must be made in full before the item will be released. The City of Carterville will accept payment by cashier’s check, money order, or other certified funds made payable to the City of Carterville. Personal checks will not be accepted unless specifically approved by the City, and no item will be released until payment has fully cleared.

Item Description

Selling a John Deere 310J backhoe with 8,681 hours. This machine runs and operates and has been a dependable piece of equipment for the City.

The backhoe has been used by the City for public works operations. Over the last two years, it has primarily been used to load gravel. The City purchased a new compact excavator and is now purchasing a skid steer, so this machine is no longer needed.

The machine does run and operate; however, the City believes it may not have all gears when shifting. Bidders should inspect the machine and satisfy themselves as to the condition before bidding.

This machine has been a good machine for the City, but it is being sold due to equipment upgrades and changing operational needs. The City makes no warranties or guarantees regarding condition, operation, transmission, hydraulics, drivetrain, or any other mechanical components. Bidders are strongly encouraged to inspect the machine before bidding.

Buyer is responsible for all pickup, loading, hauling, transportation, permits, and associated costs. Machine is being sold as-is, where-is.

It is a 2008 Model Year John Deere Backhoe. We are adding the year as it seems it was not included in the original description.

Seller's Terms & Conditions

All items are sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with no warranties, guarantees, or representations, either expressed or implied, as to condition, fitness for use, mileage, mechanical condition, or operability. The City of Carterville strongly encourages bidders to inspect the item before bidding. Any description provided is based on the City’s best available knowledge, but bidders are responsible for verifying condition prior to placing a bid. This vehicle is not currently running and may require towing or hauling from the pickup location. The City believes the vehicle may have a bad fuel pump; however, no diagnosis is guaranteed. The dump bed operation is unknown, as the truck must be running in order to test the bed. Winning bidder must make payment in full according to Municibid requirements before the item will be released. Buyer must provide proof of payment and valid identification at the time of pickup. Buyer is responsible for all loading, towing, hauling, transportation, permits, insurance, and any costs associated with removing the item. Pickup shall be by appointment only during normal City business hours unless otherwise approved by the City. The item must be removed within 7 days after payment is completed. Failure to pick up the item within the required timeframe may result in forfeiture of the item and/or payment, unless prior arrangements have been approved by the City. The City of Carterville reserves the right to reject any bid, cancel the sale, or withdraw the item from auction if necessary. The item will not be released until all required payment and documentation has been completed.
