Payment Details

Full payment shall be made by certified bank check only, payable to the Town of Wakefield, and must be received by the Town no later than five (5) calendar days following the close of the auction. Payment in full is required before any item may be released to the buyer. Additional fees, terms and conditions required by the auction site, are to be the responsibility of the buyer only. The Town reserves the absolute right to reject any bid or to cancel any sale if the buyer fails to remit payment within the specified timeframe.

The Town of Wakefield is offering this 1997 Chevrolet C7500 Kodiak for sale as surplus equipment.

Included Equipment

• One (1) 10-foot Everest power-angle plow is included with the sale.
• The truck requires a new set of tow locks to mount the plow.
• The plow must be trailered separately and cannot be mounted to the truck for removal.
• Truck is equipped with a calcium spray system. The system is included with the sale but is in need of repair and its overall condition and functionality are unknown.

Known Issues

• Batteries are dead and will require replacement. The truck will start and run with a jump.
• The truck has an air leak.
• Brakes are currently locked.
• VEHICLE CANNOT BE DRIVEN AND MUST BE TOWED FROM THE PROPERTY.
• Electrical issue affecting the HVAC blower motor.
• Rust and corrosion consistent with the age and municipal use of the vehicle.

The conditions listed above are those known to the Town at the time of sale. There may be additional mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, structural, cosmetic, or safety-related defects that are unknown or have not yet been identified. The Town has not performed a comprehensive inspection to determine all existing defects.

This vehicle is being sold AS IS, WHERE IS, with no warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied, regarding its condition, operability, or fitness for any particular purpose. Prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to inspect the vehicle before bidding.

The successful bidder is responsible for all loading and towing of the truck, transportation of the plow, repairs, inspections, registration, battery replacement, and any other costs associated with placing the vehicle into service.

Buyers are solely responsible for completing all necessary due diligence prior to submitting a bid. Bids will NOT be accepted unless submitted through the auction website. By submitting a bid, the buyer acknowledges and agrees that all sales are final, and that all items are sold “AS IS, WHERE IS,” with all faults, and without any guarantees. The Town expressly disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The asset will be sold, if at all, to the responsive bidder offering the highest price for the asset described in this advertisement and on the auction site listing. The Town of Wakefield reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to dispose of the equipment through a negotiated sale, provided that the negotiated sale price is higher than the highest bid received from a responsive bidder. Upon winning the auction, the winning bidder shall be required to submit a signed non-collusion form to the Town of Wakefield prior receipt of the equipment. Said non-collusion form shall be: “The undersigned certifies, under penalties of perjury, that its Bid has been made and submitted in good faith and without collusion or fraud with any other person. As used in this certification, the word “person” shall mean any natural person, business, partnership, corporation, union, committee, club or other organization, entity, or group of individuals.” The winning bidder shall also certify, in writing, that, pursuant to M.G.L. c. 62C, §49A, that it is in compliance with all laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts pertaining to taxes, to the reporting of employees and contractors, and to the withholding and remittance of child support. The buyer is solely responsible for arranging and completing in-person pickup of all purchased items at the Town of Wakefield Department of Public Works within ten (10) calendar days after the Town’s receipt of full payment. The Town does not provide shipping, delivery, or loading services, and shall bear no responsibility for the transportation of purchased goods.
